Program Description
A strategic communication degree from 91³Ô¹ÏÍø emphasizes areas such as listening and group communication skills, journalism, public relations, and advertising.

Capstone project
Strategic communication majors gain valuable consulting experience during their senior capstone by working closing with various nonprofit organizations to identify communication challenges. Students use their understanding of communication processes, models, concepts, and theories to analyze and evaluate what they see in these organizations and then propose practical and workable solutions to those challenges.
Communication tutors
Outstanding strategic communication majors and minors serve as communication tutors in Rockhurst’s Learning Center. Strategic communication tutors help Rockhurst students with oral presentation skills and with speech writing. Through tutoring, communication tutors deepen their understanding of the subject and sharpen valuable skills in communication and interpersonal relations. Tutors also gain valuable information about topics such as learning styles, active listening, effective questioning and setting goals for tutoring sessions.
